Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has completed the process of examination for Junior Intelligence Officers (JIO), Grade-II (Technical) i.e. JIO-II/Tech in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) under General Central Service, Group-‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts). The examination was completed on 22 July 2023 at various examination centres.

Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the recruitment notification for the vacant posts of Junior Intelligence Officer and other posts in the month of June 2023. The notification has been published to fill up the 797 vacancies for mentioned posts. The process of registration for these posts was started on 03 June and was completed by 23 June 2023

After the registration process, the department has scheduled the written examination which was conducted on 22 July 2023. The examination was conducted for 100 marks. The paper consisted of 100 questions and each question was asked for 1 mark. There was a negative marking of 1/4 marks in this examination.

IB JIO Selection Process

Stages of recruiting the JIO candidates are shared below:

• Written Test: The candidates will be judged according to their written test ability. They will need to score near the cut-off marks to qualify for the paper.

• Skill Test: After the written test, what comes out to be the most important is to check the skills that a particular candidate posses. This will include technical and practical skills. The skill test will be related to the job profile.

• Interview: The candidates will have to appear for the questionnaire round. Other details can be checked from the official portal.

The final round after the interview will be the document verification process. The candidates can check the entire list of documents from the official website along with the descriptive details of the selection procedure.

This will be the level 4 job post for which the salary of the selected candidates will be Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 81,000. This is a variable amount as the final pay scale will be decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs authorities once all the processes are done.
